5. Resolved Question: Chance me for Rice University? And Texas A&M? - I live in Connecticut so I think that might help me a little as far as applying to schools in Texas? I am half white and half black, my unweighted GPA is probably around a 3.65 to 3.7. I am in the top 10% of my class of around 460 students, I'm close to the top 5%. I am a female and want to do engineering, I have taken all Honors & AP classes throughout HS. Last year I took AP US History and got a 4 on the exam. This year I am taking AP Calc BC, AP Bio, and AP Spanish. I have a lot of leadership and community service activities, such as National Honor Society, Spanish NHS, Unified Friends Club, Human Relations Club (officer), Debate Team, volunteer at New Haven Reads (literacy tutor) and other places. I also am a gymnast, track runner and soccer player. I got a 2070 on the SAT (780 writing, 640 cr, 650 math) and 720 on the Spanish SATII, 700 on US History, 580 on Math I, 660 on Math II, and like 480 on Physics. (really bad, I know) I think my essays were pretty good and my teacher recs should have been pretty good. I also did a summer math and engineering program at Carnegie Mellon for 6wks that was pretty rigorous. I was deferred from Yale and haven't heard from any other schools yet.

Resolved Question: I am at Texas A&M and they only count the gpa based on what grades I received there.? - My A&M GPA is not very good because I have retaken some of the classes at community colleges and they do not show up as a letter grade. The only problem is that my A&M transcript does not show the grades I received from other schools. I am afraid that when I graduate and start applying for grad school they will only look at my transcript GPA which is very low. Is there a way to change what the GPA says on my A&M transcript into my actual GPA from all of the schools I have attended and not just the grades at A&M?

9. Resolved Question: Question about my Texas A&M application...? - I applied to Texas A&M with Biomedical Engineering as my first choice major and Biology as my second in December. I just now logged onto my AIS page and I see that they've changed my first choice major to "Blinn Team." I'm very worried. I mean, I guess I didn't really expect to get into the College of Engineering, because my stats aren't exactly stellar, but it's a huge let down. Even so, I do NOT want to major in General Studies. I'd prefer to major in Biology, but now I don't see an option for changing my major. What exactly does being a Blinn student mean? Here are my stats at the time: GPA: 3.71 Rank: 73/606 (top 12%, unfortunately...)
