How to Use This Site

This site has one purpose: quick, "at-your-fingertips" research on hot topics/highly-searched keywords.

Here are the steps, in summary.  Read them, then read below for an explanation:

Bookmark this page, or link to it, and come back every day (or more) to find a new hot topic to write about.

1.  Browse the main page(s) for an interesting Hot Keyword Phrase

2.  Click the link to the individual page, and read about that phrase (news, blog, forum posts, answered Yahoo questions, YouTube vids, etc.)

3.  Write your own blog/post or article at your site where you want traffic.  (REwrite from this content, don't copy/paste).  (TIP:  don't use the main phrase as your title...use a related phrase that includes the main phrase)

4.  Socialbookmark your new post, and/or go to Open Questions from Yahoo Answers and create links to your new post.

5.  Watch the traffic flow in!

______________________________

The list of phrases on the main page are the latest, new additions of keyword phrases from Google Hot Trends.  (Google HT is a list of the top 100 most-searched phrases over the last several hours, and this page updates whenever GHT does).  In effect, this list shows you what is hot RIGHT NOW on the web.  Over the last few hours, what have people searching for most?

If you click on the phrase, an individual page opens up with a bunch of information about that phrase:

  • Google Insights on related search terms
  • Blog posts
  • News items
  • Forum threads
  • YouTube videos
  • Images (links to the images...use your discretion)
  • Yahoo Answers - both Open Questions and Resolved Questions
  • Google Insights rising rate (how fast that phrase is becoming hot)

...ALL of the information is specifically about the individual keyword phrase from the main Hot Trends list.

So...what can you do with it?

This site was designed for me to use as a research tool, but I'm now sharing it with fellow Internet Marketers.

The best way to use this site is to develop fast content around hot search phrases.  For example, let's say that you are an Internet Marketer.  You might check this page once a day for ideas to blog about.  If you see a phrase that jumps out to you, click on it, read up on it, and write a blog post.  Then social bookmark your blog post (like at socialmarker.com).  Now you have a post written about the hottest thing being searched on the internet.  You can also use the Open Questions from Yahoo Answers to post information about the topic, and include a link to your new blog post there!

REWRITE the content here.  Don't just copy&paste.  The content here is all various forms of RSS feeds, aggregated together about the keyword phrases.  For good content at your site, read the articles here, then write your own summary (and maybe embed some images or video).

I've used this technique and it works.  For example, I had one post that I wrote after seeing it appear on the list...that post alone got 5000 visits in one day (and averaged three thousand for many days after that).  I was making $20 per day in AdSense revenue from that ONE POST.

And it's always changing.  This is about what's NEW.  Eventually traffic will die down to your post...what is "hot" eventually becomes cold.  But, just keep visiting.

Method #2: Search for Related Keywords

You can use the search function to look for a niche you are interested in writing about.  That way you can find all the related keywords and tags associated with that keyword.  For example, searching "hurricane" turns up several different posts, all related to the term...each individual post will have its own content for you to peruse.  This helps you know what terms related to your niche have been in the top 100 searches on Google (starting on Aug 30th, 2009, when I started capturing this history).

Enjoy!

To use the questions, go to Yahoo Answers and create an account.

When you see an ‘Open Question’ here on this site, click the link to go to that question within Yahoo Answers, and answer the question being asked. Include the URL of your site in the Resource box at the bottom of the question.

I believe that Yahoo Answers is a no-follow link, but you will get traffic visiting from Yahoo Answers directly.

OK, I understand your process but how do you increase traffic via social bookmarking if you’re starting from scratch traffic wise?
    Thank you!
