1. Resolved Question: How can I, as an individual, participate in high speed trading (also called high velocity or high frequency)?

Resolved Question: How is High Frequency Trading done, given the T+3 rule? - I wish to start day trading and have the equity to cover the SEC requirements, but from what I've read it looks like you can never trade more than your account + margin in a single 3 day period because of settlement laws. For example, if I have $25000 equity with 50% margin, does this mean I can only buy and sell $10000 worth of securities 5 times within any 3 day period? If so, how do prop trading desks get away with HFT? Just by having massive amounts of capital on the sidelines?
