- Resolved Question: 8.8 EARTHQUAKE HITS COUNTRY OF CHILE, AND MAJOR EARTHQUAKE THIS YEAR BEHIND HAITI. SUSPICIOUS? - Look this has got me really suspicious, i mean this has been the 2nd biggest earthquake this year and the time length between haiti earthquake and chile earthquake hasn't even pass 2 months. tsunamis are expected all over the Pacific islands: Hawaii, American Samoa and surrounding islands, Guam, Tahiti, French Polynesia, already evacuations are being made in these islands, because of possible tsunami. California, Oregon also in danger, as well as Mexico and any nation neighboring the Pacific ocean. I'm a skeptic towards the 2012 thing but, it starting to make me worry. Ted Sheckler, I respect yur opinion, but what if this is just the start, then as we slowly propogate towards 2012 it starts getting worse. I know about these earthquakes everyday, heck i've lived in California where earthquakes are everyday life, but there not as strong as these recent MAJOR EARTHQUAKES. OKAY PEOPLE I KNOW ABOUT TECTONIC PLATES MOVING EVERY YEAR, AND MINOR EARTHQUAKES HAPPENING EVERY YEAR SO STOP POINTING IT OUT. AND I AM AWARE ABOUT PAST DISASTERS. Eric I admire your answer because i too am open, my motto is expect the unexpected, and always be open. you don't have to believe it , just keep an open mind, so if anything does happen you won't be surprise.for me if 2012 isn't true then i will rejoice and i would actually wish it would not happen, but if it does i'll be ready. Your thoughts? - By JAYMES SONG, Associated Press Writer Jaymes Song, Associated Press Writer – 21 mins ago EWA BEACH, Hawaii – A tsunami triggered by the Chilean earthquake raced across the Pacific Ocean on Saturday, threatening Hawaii and the U.S. West Coast as well as hundreds of islands from the bottom of the planet to the top. Sirens blared in Hawaii to alert residents to the impending waves, with authorities asking people living near the water to evacuate. On several South Pacific islands hit by a tsunami last fall, police evacuated tens of thousands of residents from the coast. The first waves in Hawaii are expected to hit shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday (4 p.m. EST; 2100 GMT) and measure roughly 8 feet (2.5 meters) at Hilo. Most Pacific Rim nations however did not order evacuations, but advised people in low-lying areas to be on the lookout. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/quake_tsunami Edit: Is the earth rebelling against all humanity? The CERN LHC giant particle accelerator was turned on at the end of 2009, and has been doing experiments in 2010. It is by far the largest particle accelerator ever built.
